Designed by Anne Berk
This sock was my first use of hand-dyed variegated yarn for intarsia-in-the-round socks. I knew immediately that the combination of the zig zag pattern and these colorways was a winner. The socks are featured on the cover of my DVD, "Inside Intarsia", but the pattern was destined for Tina, who generously let me play with her yarns for this experiment.
I encourage you to read this pattern carefully, absorb the information, and then put it away while you knit the sock. Refer to it as needed for instructions on knitting certain areas, but follow your knitting and see where it takes you. The technique is not hard, but it is tricky, and probably different from anything you've done before. You will need to practice and wait for your "Eureka" moment, when it all suddenly makes sense. The result is knitting magic at its finest, and worth working toward.
