Lauma. A sky spirit brought to earth by her compassion. In Latvian mythology, she is the guardian of birth, mothers and children. In Lithuanian mythology, a “laume” is a fairy with bird’s feet who helps women with their work of that time period. Especially skilled in spinning and weaving.
