Our lovely South American Polwarth combined with a smidge (15%) of silk. What could be better right?! Polwarth is a cross between the long wool Lincoln and a fine wool Merino. A good breeding plan for a heartier fine wool sheep with a longer staple. Our hope is that Victoria becomes one of our good basic sweater yarns right next to BFL Sport and Woobu. It has the softness we all want, a wonderful loftiness, a little shine from that longer staple and excellent stitch definition. Add in a little silk and that little shine becomes luminous with just a bit of an extra punch from our friend the silk worm! A dreamy yarn for all kinds of applications. A note on the gauge listed below. I loved the fabric I got on the 3.50 needles for sweaters.
