"Baby Mine" Sweater

I have a desperate fondness for baby girls, and whenever my friends are expecting I hope the whole time that they will make me someone who needs a sweater like this. With a simple lace body and sleeves that give way to a deep garter yoke that makes it easy to dress the babe, this sweater is the one I want to make for every baby girl (and a few boys) who cross my path.

Materials Needed:
• 1 (1, 2, 2) skeins Blue Moon Fiber Arts® Socks that Rock® mediumweight
• 3.5mm (US size 4) needles, or size to obtain gauge:
• a set of double-pointed needles or two circulars, for knitting the sleeves in the round
• a pair of straight needles or a circular needle, for knitting the body and yoke flat
• Stitch marker
• Stitch holders or waste yarn
• Tapestry needle
• 3 buttons, 1 to 1.5cm (½") in diameter
