In the spring of 2011, the Merry Socksters, a band of knitters who proclaimed their love of STR and its creator the Depraved Dyer, began their cross-country adventure on Haight-Ashbury Street in San Francisco. Their mission was to share with the masses their love and new understanding of life while on the knitting high of STR. Packed into their psychedelic bus, they knit vibrant, brightly-colored socks with a unique garter stitch picot cuff. Although their 4-month journey to Sock Summit continued, they became more entranced with the STR and needed a slightly less-complicated pattern. The Merry Socksters pattern captures the energy of this adventure, while also being the perfect "road trip" project!
