Sock monkeys land on Blue Moon! The air is a little thinner here and the traditional sock monkey has mutated into this ever so wild and funky monkey. Knit in true sock form, with afterthought mouth and bottom and with your choice of double-points, two circs, or Magic Loop. Never before has a sock become so multidimensionally charming.

You will not be able to knit just one!
 
materials required:

• Blue Moon Fiber Arts® Socks that Rock® heavyweight: 1/2 skein each of color A and color B make one small monkey and one large monkey
• US size 5 (3.75mm) needles, or size to obtain gauge:
• one set of double-pointed needles, two circular needles, or one long “Magic Loop” circular needle, for working in the round over a small number of stitches
• one pair of double-pointed needles, for working I-cord tail, legs, and arms of small monkey
• US size 3 (3.25mm) needles, or two sizes smaller than needles used to obtain gauge:
• one pair of double-pointed needles, for working I-cord ears of small monkey
• Stitch marker
• Waste yarn
• Stitch holders
• Tapestry needle
• Fiberfill for stuffing
• Pipe cleaners
• Embellishment options:
  
  • around neck: yarn scraps or ribbon
  • for eyes and other facial features: buttons, pieces of felt, felting needle and unspun fiber or yarn scraps, or embroidery needle and floss
