Designed by Lorilee Beltman. These fingerless mitss were inspired by a friend's incredible button stash. Worked from the cuff to the fingers, the mitts are worked flat, then closed with a row of buttons along the outside of the hand. Make them dramatically long, as shown, or opt for the shorter version to just cover the wrist.

1 skein BMFA Socks that Rock® lightweight
US size 1 (2.25mm) needles, or size to obtain gauge
Sewing needle that will fit through the hots of chosen buttons
Thread for sewing on buttons if not using yarn
12 (18) durable, machine-washable flat buttons without shanks [6 (9) per mitt], 1/2" (1.5cm) diameter
Gauge: 34 sts and 48 rows = 4" (10cm) over Stockinette stitch
Sizes: Women's size small/medium (medium/large)
6 3/4 (7 1/2)" [17 (19) cm] palm circumference
