When Amy and Jillian asked me to design a colourway for this Anniversary Celebration I was both thrilled and honored, about fifteen minutes later I got that feeling in the pit of my stomach I get when asked to create a special color... dread. I mean, what if I can't make them a color they love or if I wake up and can't make color anymore or worse yet what if they feel they have to like it? Luckily, this all happens in my twisted little brain and not on the yarn or the lovely people I work with.
Once I got over my anxiety colored panic I went to Knitty and did a little poking around and you know what I saw? I saw all kinds of knitters, designers, yarn makers, yarn dyers, color and texture all wonderfully held in Knitty's embrace. So... I thought that a rainbow would be the best representation of that community. So, I made a Knitty friendly rainbow and then dowsed it with brown.
I think it's quite lovely and has a very special place in my heart as Knitty does! Happy Anniversary!
